What We Can Learn From a Boy

The Subtle Story of New Beginnings

Greetings in Faith and Hope

As we stand at the beginning of a new year, let's take a moment to journey back in time to the hills of Bethlehem, where a young shepherd boy named David lived. His story, is a blend of bravery, faith, and destiny, just like what we hope for in the new year.

If You Haven’t Read the Story, Here it is in a Nutshell

In Bethlehem, there was a young boy named David. He was the youngest of eight brothers, and people didn't think he was very special. He was often overlooked and underestimated. Yet, it was his pure heart and unwavering faith that caught the eye of God.

God sent the prophet Samuel to anoint the future king of Israel, and though all of David's brothers seemed fit for royalty, it was David who was chosen. He was just a shepherd boy who liked to play the harp, but he was chosen to be a great king one day.

This young boy, who spent his days tending sheep and playing his harp, was anointed by Samuel, marking the beginning of a journey that would lead him to become one of the greatest kings in history. How amazing is that!

Connecting to the New Year

As we reflect on David's story, we are reminded that greatness can arise from the humblest of beginnings. The new year presents a canvas of possibilities, and like David, we may find ourselves on the brink of something extraordinary. It's a time to reflect on the past year, cherish its lessons, and set our sights on new horizons.

Goals for the Coming Year

In this spirit, let's embrace the new year with hope and determination. Let's set goals that not only aim for professional growth but also nurture our spiritual well-being. Whether it's picking up a new skill, deepening our faith, or reaching out to help others, each goal is a step towards a more fulfilling life, much like David's journey from shepherd to king.

A Prayer for the New Year

Dear Lord,

As we step into this new year, we ask for Your guidance and wisdom. Help us to set goals that honor You and reflect the love You have shown us. May our aspirations be in line with Your will, leading us not only to personal and professional growth but also closer to You.

Bless our paths with Your grace, and let our hearts be like David's—brave, faithful, and open to Your calling. May this year be a testament to Your goodness, as we seek to grow in every aspect of our lives.

In Jesus' Name, Amen.

In Closing

As we move forward into the year, let's keep the story of young David in our hearts, remembering that with faith and determination, we can achieve extraordinary things. May this newsletter inspire you to set meaningful goals and embrace the journey ahead.

Blessings and Joy for the New Year,

Nick
